Yanin Chanasit
Yanin is a London-based portrait photographer whose work explores ethereal and metaphorical imagery, often immersing viewers in soft, pastel dreamscapes. Her image-making serves as a distinctive visual language for collaboration, offering fresh interpretations of the people and narratives she captures. Grounded in a research-led approach, her practice draws on conceptual inquiry to produce visually considered and nuanced outcomes.
Born on an island in Thailand, Yanin developed an early interest in art before moving to Bangkok to pursue her studies. It was there that she began incorporating photography into her communication design practice. She later worked as an art director and prop stylist, experiences that have strongly influenced her sense of composition and sharpened her attention to detail within her photographic work.
Her work has been exhibited across Bangkok, including at the Hotel Art Fair and the Hub of Photography Bangkok. Alongside her practice, she has contributed to education by sharing her knowledge of design and photography as a guest speaker and mentor.
Yanin is particularly interested in collaborating across the creative industries, especially with practitioners in music, dance, and the arts. Open-minded and adaptable, she values working with a diverse range of collaborators, approaching each project as an opportunity to expand and evolve her visual and conceptual language.
