Yanin Chanasit
Yanin Chanasit is a London-based portrait photographer and art director whose work explores ethereal and metaphorical imagery, often transporting viewers into muted, pastel, yet edgy dreamscapes. Using creative camera filters with experimental lighting, she creates fresh perspectives on the individuals she captures. An experienced collaborator, her practice is rooted in a research-driven approach, using conceptual inquiry to shape visually thoughtful and nuanced outcomes.
Born on the island of Phuket in Thailand, Yanin studied Communication Design at Chulalongkorn University, where she began integrating photography into her practice. She later worked as an art director and prop stylist, which informed her sense of composition and attention to detail. She is currently completing an MA Commercial Photography at the University of the Arts London, strengthening her studio skills and ability to add depth to her images.
Her work has been exhibited across Bangkok, including at Hotel Art Fair and Hub of Photography. She shares her knowledge in design and photography as a guest speaker and educational mentor.
Yanin is particularly interested in collaborating within the creative industries, especially in music, dance, and the arts. Through engaging with diverse collaborators, she expands her visual and conceptual language. For example, through her collaboration with MA Music Production students, she translated musical performance into tangible visuals.
